EO-3 OMEGA 3 SUPPLEMENT

EO-3

Omega 3 Supplement

EO-3 is a rich source of the long chain omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA in a palatable liquid form.

EO-3 should be fed to horses of all classes and levels of work, to provide a source of beneficial long-chain omega-3 fatty acids to improve the critical omega-3 : 6 ratio in the diet.

Research conducted in both humans and animals has found that the omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA found in EO-3 have been shown to:

. Have a central role in maintenance of general health

. Aid sub-fertile stallions and mares

. Aid mares to increase colostral antibodies and passive transfer to the foal

. Have a positive effect on bone metabolism

. Aid in reducing inflammatory responses in joints. hooves and skin

. Improve vitamin E status and anti-oxidant function

. Reduce exercise induced bronchoconstriction

. Increase red cell flexibility

. Enhance immune function

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in a number of vegetable oils eg canola or linseed oil. These oils contain the short chain form, linoleic acid, which must be converted in the body to the active omega-3 forms EPA and DHA. Only fish oil provides a direct source of EPA and DHA.

EO-3 is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids provided from fish oils (cold water species), Many fish oils are not very palatable or well accepted. However, Kentucky Equine Research has addressed this issue and has specially designed and tested EO-3 for its palatability and stability.

AVAILABLE PACK SIZES: 3.785 litres

USES

. To balance the omega 3 : 6 ration of horses on high grain or low pasture diets

. To supply long chain omega 3's DHA & EPA that aren't present in vegetable oils

GOLDEN GRASS COMPANY'S PROFILE

Our Company…………………………………..

Golden Grass Farming, a company established in 2002 is one of the largest forage producers in Europe and the only forage producers with an ISO 9001 certification. We have thousands of hectares of fertile land that runs along the Nemunas Delta in Nordic region and the conducive climatic condition help us to produce the finest fodders for the horses. This region has been under intensive grass production since 1950.

We employ more than 70 qualified people engaged from the preparation of land, seed selection, drilling, rotation of cultivation, harvesting, production to storage and packaging of forages using the most modern agricultural techniques and equipment in the respective fields.

Our Products…………………………………….

We cultivate both grasses and legumes in our land to produce a forage mix best suited for all ,ages, types & activities of horses. Our range includes the most common Timothy, Alfalfa, Rye Grass, Clover and many of the natural meadow grasses with seeds selected out of high hybrid varieties. We are currently producing 3 major types of mix to meet different activity levels of horses. We could also offer a customized mix to meet any specific demands of the market.

The harvested grasses are stored under anaerobic conditions with their natural moisture content. They are then made into large bales wrapped around with heavy plastic material to encourage natural fermentation. This is to retain the natural nutritive values of the grasses unlike sun curing when there may be a loss of nutrients. No chemical additives are added at any stage of our production.

Our Mission…………………………………

Our products - GOLDEN GRASS forages have been well accepted throughout the Europe for its superior quality and modern packaging. The encouraging demand has made us to expand our marketing operations beyond Europe to Middle East and Asia.

Having successfully established ourselves with our products & services, our mission continues with the same approach into newer markets incorporating the latest technology in the field of agriculture, nutrition and packaging to provide a superior product in the field of forages at all times.

WHY GOLDEN GRASS?

GOLDEN GRASS provides a total solution with many advantages meeting the forage demands of every type, age, and activity level of horses.

PRODUCTION: GOLDEN GRASS is produced in our own fertile lands under a strict technical supervision right from the seed selection, drilling to harvesting and packaging. A strict selection and quality control at the field eliminates spoiled grasses, field contaminants, weeds etc. and thus quality is assured on every bale produced.

MODERN PACKAGING: GOLDEN GRASS employs the most modern packaging technology to ensure retention of nutritive values & freshness on every bag produced. The vacuum sealed, double layered bag provides anaerobic environment to the mix to augment fermentation and also prevents the formation of moulds & fungus. A unique gas valve fixed on every bag helps to release any excessive gas as a result of fermentation.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE: GOLDEN GRASS forage is a nuitritionally balanced supplementary forage made out of best quality grasses and legumes harvested at the right stage to get the optimal nutritional value out of every type of grass and legumes harvested.

NATURAL FERMENTATION: GOLDEN GRASS forage is fermented under natural conditions without adding any moloasses. The mixing of Rye Grass, apart from its nutritional values, also helps in the fermentation due to break down of its natural sugar content. This way you are assured of a 100% natural product with no chemical addictives added.

HEALTY APPROACH: GOLDEN GRASS due to its natural blend of grasses and herbs helps horses to maintain good health and condition, especially of the respiratory system. The natural flavour and smell makes it highly palatable even for fuzzy eaters.

LONG SHELF LIFE: GOLDEN GRASS bags if stored up under a shady place with good ventilation could retain the freshness and nutritional value for almost 10 month from the date of production. On opening a bag, the entire grass should be taken and spread out to be used within 48 - 72 hours.

ECONOMICAL: GOLDEN GRASS on a long term usage usually leads to a reduction in the grain feed intake. This helps to save on the cost of overall ration and at the same time helps to put your horses on a natural diet and maintain good health of the horses all the time.

GOLDEN GRASS

Horses have evolved as grass and forage eaters with a natural grazing habit and a digestive system that is best suited to derive the maximum benefits out of forages.
Though natural grazing in a paddock may be the most suitable way of feeding a horse, it has got many limitations such as seasonal changes, over grazing, lack of scientific rationing, worm infestations, sand eating, paddock injuries, poisoning, digestive disorders ect.
Secondly paddock grazing is not freely available in all places around the world due to climatic and economic reasons.

Golden Grass is the healthy forage alternative to hay.

EQUIVIT B - QUIET

A supplemental source of Thiamine (Vitamin B1) to help calm nervous, hot or highly strung horses where bahaviour is related to thiamine deficiency.

Many horses are difficult to handle and do not fulfill their full potential as a resulf of spookiness or nervousness.

A deficiency of thiamine has been shown in several species to lead to nervous behaviour. B-QUIET provides concentrated levels of thiamine to treat the symptoms of thiamine deficiency, including hyper-irritability and nervousness in horses. Thiamine plays an important role in carbohydrate metabolism and nerve transmission. Thiamine deficiency can sometimes be caused by grazing on bracken fern.

B-QUIET is also useful for horses on high grain intakes and in heavy training, to aid energy utilisation and promote appetite. In these horses, production of thiamine by intestinal bacteria may be reduced by stress and hind gut acidosis.

USES:

. Excitable and highly strung horses

. Horses that are poor travellers and nervous away from home

. Horses that are nervous, and prone to tie up

. Mares who become irritable when in season

. Horses "heated up" by grain

. Instead of injectible Vitamin B1

ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS:

Thiamine (Vitamin B1) 1,000mg - 33,333mg

AVAILABLE PACK SIZES: 600g (trial pack), 1kg and 4kg

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

For nervous horses, and other horses showing signs of thiamine deficiency, use 30g per day mixed in the feed for as long as signs persist. Feed 30g per day mixed in feed to horses on high grain intakes in heavy training. Double doses may be given for 2 days prior to a show competition or racing to enhance the calming effect.

1 heaped scoop = 30g

Other feeding managements practices to reduce nervous behaviour should also be used. Match energy intake with body condition and workload. This includes the use of high fat supplements such as KER EQUI-JEWEL or "cool" prepared feeds. If further supplementation with high levels of other B vitamins is needed, EQUIVIT HEMABUILD can be used.

EQUI - JEWEL

High-Fat Stabilised Rice Bran with Calcium, Vitamin E and Selenium
Alternative sources of energy, such as rice bran, are now more popular than ever.

Equi-Jewel, a high-fat stabilised rice bran supplement, increases the energy density of a ration, thereby decreasing the amount of grain necessary to fulfill energy requirements of horses during growth, lactation or athletic performance. Addition of Equi-Jewel to a ration can reduce the risk of founder, colic, diarrhoea and exertional myopathies often associated with excessive grain and minimal forage intake.

Equi-Jewel contains a balanced calcium to phosphorus ration. In its natural state, rice bran is richer in phosphorus than in calcium.
Excessive phosphorus in the diet inhibits calcium absorption, which may compromise skeletal integrity or induce developmental orthopaedic disease. Inclusion of calsium carbonate ensures a balanced calcium to phosphorus ratio in the diet of a horse, and can be used as a calcium supplement.

To achieve superior coat condition, Equi-Jewel can be suppplemented to horses of all ages. Equi-Jewel is a highly digestible and higly palatable source of unsaturated fat for horses. Fats are composed of glycerol and essential fatty acids, elements linked to elastic skin and glossy hair coats.

BENEFITS:
. Provides fatty acids essential for healthy skin and hair
. Improves and maintains condition on poor doers and picky eaters
. Enhances palatability and convenience compared to oil
. Delivers low starch and low glycemic index for horses prone to tying up and
behavioural problems
. Stabilised to protect nutritional value and retain freshness
. Adds calories to a ration without excessive grain intake
. Supplies a highly palatable and digestible form of fat

HYGAIN MIRCBARLEY

Micronizing is a "Short Time, High Temperature" patented process using the grains moisture and infrared heat to achieve conditions essential for the optimal cooking of starch and starch gelatinisation. During processing the grain becomes soft and pliable, causing the reconfiguration of the starch structure (gelatinisation). Immediate flaking fully gelatinises the starches so as to significantly enhance the digestibility and nutritional value of the feed.

HYGAIN® MICRBARLEY® is readily converted and absorbed as glucose in the small intestine, providing energy more efficiently than starch fermented in the large intestine.

The small intestine is the epicentre of nutrient digestion in the horse. Vitamins, minerals, fats, protein and starch are readily absorbed in the small intestine. Research shows that feed digested in the small intestine significantly increases the rate of glucose (energy) absorption. The starch in HYGAIN® MICRBARLEY® is over 95% digested in the horse's small intestine where as the starch in whole or steam flaked barley is only 20-30% digested. The remaining starch is then fermented in the large intestine, this in turn increases the burden on the large intestine producing elevated levels of lactic acid, gas and heat. Using HYGAIN® MICRBARLEY® transfers the site of digestion back to the small intestine.

FEEDING GUIDE

Introduce TRACKTORQUE to your horse's diet gradually. Feeding amount is dependant on the work load, size and appetite of your horse.

As TRACKTORQUE is a highly palatable, digestible energy source, care should be taken to match feed intake to workload. Reduce TRACKTORQUE intake if horses gain weight, training regime is interrupted and on rest days.

Horses in full work will require on average per day between 5 - 7kg of TRACKTORQUE and 3 - 5kg of quality roughage such as chaff or hay for fibre. The use of additional supplements and grains is not required.

During periods of heavy sweat loss additional supplementation with an electrolyte such as HYGAIN REGAIN is recommended.

MICRONIZING
Micronization is a patented process by which the grain's moisture and infrared heat is used to reconfigure the grain's structural matrix. This leads to increased feed efficiency, with greater than 90% of the grain's starch being digested in the small intestine. With such an increase in digestion in the small intestine, and hence the reduced burden on the large intestine, this leads to fewer incidences of acidosis, colic, laminitis, fatigue and nervousness.
